This week, De Young Properties began construction on their 11th St. Jude Dream Home that will be given away to a lucky winner this November. The Groundbreaking Ceremony, covered live by FOX 26, included major donor and builder De Young Properties, Celebrity Designer Michael Moloney, trade partners, business affiliates and volunteers. The 2,500 sq. ft. home in the De Young Holland Pointe community located in Clovis will be offered as the first place prize to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to fight cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
This year’s home has been named “Lucky 11” to share good luck and hope for the patients of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. One hundred percent of the proceeds of the giveaway are donated to St. Jude. Serving as major donor and builder of the St. Jude Dream Home for the past 10 years, De Young Properties has successfully raised over $9.7 million for the hospital to date. This year, 11,000 tickets will be available in the hopes of raising $1,100,000 to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which works around the clock to develop cures to save the lives of boys and girls, including children in the San Joaquin Valley.
“Thank you to our trade partners, Celebrity Designer Michael Moloney, De Young team members, business affiliates and volunteers for helping us kick off the 2017 Central Valley St. Jude Dream Home. At De Young Properties, we strongly believe in our responsibility to help others, and our entire team is grateful to our community’s continued support of our business and this great cause. We are even more passionate as we were in 2007 when we first partnered with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and we are honored to be a donor and builder of our 11th St. Jude Dream Home in this war against childhood cancer. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital positively affects the lives of families across the country, in addition to giving us the opportunity to change the life of a local family,” said Paula De Young. This amazing pediatric research center, that not only treats life threatening cases in children, also freely gives guidance to doctors around the world and here in the Central Valley.”
The 2017 St. Jude Dream Home will include a signature designed suite from Michael Moloney. De Young Properties worked with Michael on the Emmy Award-winning television show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, where they teamed up to build and design a home full of inspiration for a local hero.
Due to the overwhelming success of last year’s Dream Home, Michael will once again donate his design talent and resources to one very special project, “Michael’s Mystery Suite”, which will remain off-limits during the construction and will be unveiled at a September event. “Michael’s Mystery Suite” will transform the master living quarters into an all-encompassing suite of colors, textures and the unexpected. De Young Properties and Michael Moloney are excited to collaborate on this special project which will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
