De Young Park View Named “Project of the Quarter” By California Advanced Homes Program

De Young Properties CAHP - Project Of The Quarter 2016For over 40 years, De Young Properties has been building homes in the Central Valley, always committed to industry-leading innovation, unsurpassed quality, and long before it was popular – environmental responsibility. Now today, De Young Properties’ homes are recognized as some of the most energy-efficient in California, certified by GreenPoint Rated, which gives homeowners third-party assurance that their new home supports energy-efficiency, sustainable building practices, indoor air quality and water conservation.

We know that we are building pretty amazing homes with very energy efficient features but it is always cool to be recognized for it. We recently received a “pat on the back” by California Advanced Homes Program (CAHP) who featured De Young Park View as the “Project of the Quarter” in their quarterly newsletter. This means Park View had the lowest 2013 Title 13 “CAHP Score” for the last three months.

Park View homes are GreenPoint Rated, reach as low as 57 on the ResNET HERS scale, recycle up to 90% of construction waste and a solar lease was available to lower power bills allowing families to live more affordably.

In addition, this community provides an ideal location and generous amenities and all at an affordable price. This family-friendly neighborhood offers industry-leading energy efficiency and the quality craftsmanship of a De Young home that our homebuyers have come to know and love.

De Young EnergySmart™homes are designed to maximize energy savings while offering quality craftsmanship and true comfort. These GreenPoint Rated, energy-efficient homes come with a host of earth-friendly features and apply green building practices that create a healthy environment in which we live. These building practices include high energy efficiency standards, improved indoor air quality, water conservation and utilizing sustainable building practices. In addition, De Young EnergySmart™homes have independent inspections for third-party review.

De Young Residence 240 Gourmet KitchenCompared to a non-EnergySmart home, De Young out paces other new and existing homes on the market with improved energy-efficiency with features such as high performance, Anlin Monte Verde argon gas filled, dual pane windows with triple-layer solar control Low-E glass; an Energy Star-rated dish washer; Energy Star approved Cool Roof tiles; an Energy Star-rated Rinnai tankless gas water heater; highly-efficient 16 SEER, 13 EER and 96% AFUE HVAC system with an ECM motor for energy efficient control and filtered fresh air to improve indoor air quality; and reflective radiant barrier and formaldehyde-free insulation systems.

The CAHP team has always been a wonderful resource to us as we have aggressively improved our home designs over the years. Without their financial and technical assistance, it would not be possible to build such advanced homes. We look forward to continuing this relationship on many more communities in the future!
