Celebrating 4th of July in the Valley

Millions of people come together with family and friends and host backyard barbecues, picnics at the park, and of course enjoy the elaborate firework displays.

There are many places to enjoy the magic of this holiday right here in the Central Valley, here are just a few ideas!

 

Sunday, July 3

Shaver Lake Fireworks Show 2016

Heading out to the lake is a must for every Valley citizen during the summer months and this 4th of July weekend is the perfect opportunity! Pack up the car and head to Shaver Lake to take in beautiful scenery, breathe the fresh mountain air, and enjoy a beautiful firework display over the water!

The Selma District Chamber of Commerce and City of Selma are teaming up and co-sponsoring this annual Celebration at Selma High’s Stanley Stadium. Take the family and enjoy a night of music and delicious food, tickets are as low as $5!

Kingsburg Independence Day Celebration

Head to Kingsburg High School Bowl for a patriotic celebration with fireworks, food, and fun! Tickets are just $5!

Kerman Festival of the American Spirit Fireworks Show

If you’re looking for entertainment on the 4th, join the Kerman community for their Annual Independence Celebration. For just $6 you can enjoy an evening of food, performances, fireworks, and games both you and your kids will love!

 

Monday, July 4

Fresno Grizzlies Baseball Game

What better way to celebrate America’s Independence than with America’s favorite pastime! The Fresno Grizzlies are taking on the Sacramento River Cats on July 4 at 6:05 p.m. Kick back and relax with a bag of peanuts and sweet lemonade while watching a ball game, but don’t miss the post-game firework show! Freedom Fest

The Clovis Kiwanis are once again hosting one of the biggest and brightest 4th of July Celebrations in the Valley! You don’t want to miss the show that has been voted “best in the region” for 12 consecutive years. The event will be held at Lamonica Stadium at Clovis High School and fireworks will begin at dusk. Fowler’s Fabulous 4th of July

Join the Celebration at Fowler High Nielson Stadium starting at 5 p.m. for a night of craft and food vendors, live music entertainment, and a fun zone for the kids. Plus, admission is free! Don’t forget a lawn chair and blankets to grab a seat on the field for the firework show beginning at dusk!

wild water adventureWild Waters –Star Spangled Banner

In 100 degree temperature there is no better way to celebrate the 4th of July than by heading out to Wild Water Adventure Park! The Park is holding a Star Spangled Revue July 1-4 where the entire family can enjoy a day cooling down in one of the parks several attractions, then end the day with a firework show! Purchase your tickets in advance here.

Reedley Spectacular Fireworks

Take the family to Reedley Sports Park for an unforgettable event that has been a tradition in the community since 1951! The Reedley Spectacular will give you an evening of live music, Parade of Colors, and of course, a spectacular firework show. Check out this video recap of the show in years past!

Sequoia & Kings Canyon 4th of July Parade

Escape the Valley heat and head to Kings Canyon National Park to watch the Independence Day Parade! The parade begins at 11 a.m. so be sure to drive up early to avoid traffic. You can even make a quick family vacation out of it where you can hike among the Sequoia’s or grab your fishing poles and relax after the parade! Reserve a campsite here.
