Recently we joined the Gutierrez family to share the second part of their homebuying journey, the building process. Today, we’re sharing what life has been like for them since they moved into their dream home in the final episode of their story!
After moving into their new home, Carmen and Gustavo Gutierrez fell in love all over again with the features that had first drawn them to the De Young Properties Residence 210 floorplan. The Gutierrez family’s favorite features in their new home were the ones that made it easier to spend time together as a family. The open-air courtyard in the Residence 210 was special to them because it was reminiscent of the courtyards found in traditional Mexican homes. As a family that loves to meal prep and cook together, their gourmet kitchen and spacious island is a part of their home that they utilize daily. Carmen loves her kitchen and finds its layout and ample natural lighting to be ideal for all of her needs. “I love that the kitchen is an open space…I just enjoy my kitchen a lot.”
During the building process, the Gutierrez family was keeping their furniture in a storage unit to make the moving process easier. However, tragedy struck when the family’s storage unit containing all of their possessions caught fire. This sadly meant that they could no longer look forward to filling their new home with their furniture and household goods they had collected for years. Despite this hardship, the family remained positive about the experience and expressed their belief that “Every home is a new beginning.” Now, having moved into their completed De Young home, the family can enjoy creating new memories in their dream home! Thank you, Gutierrez family for letting us be a part of your story!
