Remarkable Woman 2022 Honoree: Paula De Young

We are thrilled to announce that our very own, Paula De Young has been honored as one of four “Remarkable Women” in the Central Valley by KSEE 24. This national campaign by KSEE 24’s parent company, Nexstar, honors the influence and contributions women have made on public policy, social progress and quality of life in communities throughout the nation. On April 4, it will be announced that one of these four “Remarkable Women” will advance as a finalist for the National “Nexstar Woman of the Year” Award. “I am truly humbled and honored to be named as one of the four ‘Remarkable Women’ in our Central Valley community,” said Paula De Young of De Young Properties. “Thank you KSEE 24 for this distinguished honor and congratulations to my incredible fellow honorees. Your contributions to our community are inspiring and show our younger generations of women the power of our impact.”

Paula was nominated by her children – Brandon De Young, Ryan De Young and Ashley De Young-Seibert – for this award highlighting her positive outlook, leadership and commitment to bettering the community. Paula has shown her passion for her family, our community and women in business in a multitude of ways. It was 47 years ago, while still in college, that Paula started her home building and real estate company with her husband Jerry. Now, nearly five decades later, she continues to be a female pioneer in the home building industry and a mentor for women in the industry and beyond, leading a team of top professionals to build dream homes for homebuyers and neighborhoods – making our community a better place.

Paula is passionate about volunteering and giving back to organizations, especially ones so near-and-dear to her heart. She currently sits on the board for Saint Agnes Medical Center Foundation and has been a former board member of CASA of Fresno and Madera, HandsOn Central California and San Joaquin Memorial High School. For the past 15 years, Paula has been the inspiration and leader for De Young Properties in the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway, helping raise over $14.5 million to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital working to cure cancer and other life-threatening illness plaquing our youth.

And as much as Paula loves to dress up and be “nonna” to the fourth generation of De Youngs, she’s not afraid to throw on her hard hat and boots anytime she’s needed on a construction site. Ever prepared, and ever ready to put in the work to serve the homebuyers at De Young Properties, our community and our family.

We are beyond proud of Paula and her commitment in helping our community be a better place. She has truly been an inspiration and has built a path for others to better our future.

The Nexstar’s nationwide search of the 2022 “Nexstar Woman of the Year” Award, will air on KTLA during the Remarkable Women special mid-April.
