10 Things To Do To Celebrate The Season in Fresno & Clovis
The most wonderful time of the year is finally here! There is so much to get done this holiday season that it will fly by before we know it, but let us not forget to create memories with those we love. At De Young Properties, we believe that this magical time of the year is best spent doing something special with your loved ones and enjoying some of Fresno and Clovis’ Seasonal Favorites:
Gather your family and friends and take a stroll or car ride down Fresno’s Christmas Tree Lane on visit on December 11 when the lane is closed to vehicle traffic for a “walk night”. The almost century-old tradition (97 years to be exact) is one of the longest-running holiday events nationwide. Each December, homes on North Van Ness Boulevard in Fig Garden become decked-out for the holiday season and welcome thousands of visitors for the almost 2-mile stretch from Shields to Shaw. Christmas Tree Lane is open until Wednesday, December 25. For more details on hours, visit their site.
Join the fun happening in Downtown Fresno as the community celebrates nine decades of the Downtown Fresno Christmas Parade! This year’s theme is decades from the 1920s to the 2000s so expect to relive your favorite decade on Saturday, December 7 at 2:00 p.m. in Downtown Fresno.
Be sure not to miss a holiday favorite, Elf The Musical. Roger Rocka’s will be showcasing the musical until January 12, 2020. The musical based on the beloved film will take the audience on a holiday ride as Buddy the Elf searches for his true identity.
A trip to meet Santa Claus? Why not? Don’t miss out on an opportunity for your child to meet Santa Claus this Holiday Season at River Park Shopping Center. Don’t forget to capture the moment before December 24! For hours or to schedule your appointment, visit their site.
Zoo animals and Christmas, it can’t get any better than this! Join the Chaffee Zoo this holiday season for their annual magical transformation and enjoy a stroll filled with live entertainment, beverages for adults and children, and a free photo with Santa Claus.
Bring in the holiday season with the Clovis Children’s Electrical Parade on Saturday, December 7 at 6:30 p.m. The parade is guaranteed to bring holiday cheer to those in attendance and will feature floats decked-out for the season, animals, and a crowd full of energy.
Visit one of the newest additions in the Central Valley, Santa Claus Lane, which has become a local favorite in just five years. The Clovis neighborhood has given the normal traditional holiday lights a revamp by synching multiple houses to music. Join the fun as the lights dance the night away to some holiday favorites.
Don’t miss out on some holiday cheer- Tower style! During the first three weekends in December get ready to hear carolers from the valley take their voices to the street, sightings of old St. Nick, and of course tons of Tower holiday fun!
During this time of the year, it is important that everyone feels welcomed and included. Autism Speaks has partnered with Cherry Hill Programs to provide a sensory-friendly Santa experience for families across the country. The Sensory-Friendly Santa experience will be held at the Sierra Vista Mall on December 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. All families touched by autism and other special needs are welcomed to join the tradition of visiting Santa.
