De Young Properties Helps To Successfully Raise $925,600 with St. Jude Dream Home

The 2009 Central Valley St. Jude Dream Home, built by major donor De Young Properties, was given away to Bertha Fernandez who was selected as the lucky winner of the new 2,342 sq. ft home in De Young’s Brentwood Loma Vista community during the November 15th live television broadcast on KMPH FOX 26. Before the winning ticket was pulled, though, twenty-one others were chosen as winners of secondary prizes ranging from cookies for a year, gym memberships and even jewelry to name a few. The winners of these items are listed below.

This year’s event successfully raised $925,600 for a combined total with the last three years of nearly $3 million to help the kids of St. Jude fight cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.

One hundred percent of the proceeds were donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which works around the clock to develop cures to save the lives of boys and girls, including children in the Central Valley. “Although the economy is difficult, we believe it does not change our responsibility to continue to give and help others. I am incredibly proud to be a supporter for St. Jude and it has been an honor to build and donate the past three Central Valley St. Jude Dream Homes,” said Paula De Young, an owner of De Young Properties. “I have seen the inspiring care St. Jude gives their patients and families, some of which come from the Central Valley.”

The St. Jude Dream Home rests in De Young’s Brentwood Loma Vista community, part of the greater 3,300-acre Loma Vista community, master-planned by the City of Clovis. It features over 20 miles of planned walking and biking trails and the award-winning Clovis schools. The St. Jude Dream Home, near Shaw and De Wolf, offers four bedrooms, two and a half baths, a three car garage and a great room and is valued over $350,000. The winner’s dreams will come true with the home’s long list of special features, including a stone-accented Provence elevation, granite kitchen counters, two beautiful fireplaces, California Closets organization systems in the two master walk-in closets and premium-grade 18-inch tile floors.

The home also includes General Electric stainless steel appliances with a refrigerator and 5-burner gas cook top, the bold look of Kohler plumbing fixtures and walls pre-plumbed for a pest control system. The home also offers De Young’s earth friendly features that include being built to the Energy Star standard and verified by independent inspectors with GreenPoint Rated for assurance that it will be healthier to live in, environmentally responsible and saves money.
