De Young Properties Celebrates 8,000 Homes Milestone

De Young Properties is honored to celebrate the company’s significant milestone of building 8,000 homes for families in the Central Valley! Since 1974, De Young Properties has built quality crafted homes for Valley families to create treasured memories in.

“I am humbled to have been instrumental in making the American Dream of homeownership a reality for 8,000 families” said Jerry De Young, Co-Founder and CEO of De Young Properties. “I cannot express how grateful my family and I are for our valued customers who have made this significant milestone attainable for us, and we hope to build another 8,000 homes for families to continue making memories in.”

The vision of De Young Properties began with late Valley homebuilder, John Bonadelle, father to Paula De Young. Bonadelle started building homes post WWII, where he then discovered his passion for helping families gain homeownership. That same drive was instilled in Paula, fueling the passion that she has today for the homebuilding industry. Paula’s first job was at the age of 10 working in her father’s office as an assistant to the receptionist. With exposure to the homebuilding industry at such a young age, Paula knew she wanted to follow in her father’s footsteps and pursue a career in homebuilding, continuing the legacy of helping other families gain homeownership and building a better community in which we live.

While still in college, Paula and her husband, Jerry De Young continued the legacy with the creation of their own homebuilding company in 1974, known today as De Young Properties. The company’s first 300 homes were built in Madera County within the Bonadelle Ranchos and Madera Ranchos. Paula and Jerry both sold their first home within the Bonadelle Ranchos off Skyview Road to homeowners the Knight Family.

“The Central Valley has truly raised all three generations of our family and supported our family business for decades. As such, we are extremely grateful to serve this community and the families that live here by helping them gain homeownership, build their personal wealth and create a place to share cherished family memories,” said Paula De Young, Co-Founder and Executive President of De Young Properties. “It is incredible to think that in a lifetime we would reach this milestone, impacting so many lives and being part of building a brighter future for our community.”

Now 48 years later and led by its third generation, De Young Properties continues their family legacy of building quality crafted homes for families to achieve the American Dream of homeownership. De Young Properties homes continue with the same quality it started with and has continued to push the envelope, incorporating the most advance building sciences to ensure the homes are not only beautiful, but sustainable and contribute to a better community and environment. The 8,000-home milestone was purchased in the nearly sold-out Upper Legacy Square community, located east Clovis in the scenic 3,300-acre Loma Vista master-planned community.

“The foundation on which my grandparents and parents built their homebuilding companies holds true today,” said Ryan De Young, President of De Young Properties. “We are committed to building quality crafted homes for our customers, continually pushing for the most advanced in building science technologies, and creating a homebuying experience that is enjoyable from start to finish. Our passion, first instilled by my grandfather, is to help build a better community for all and continue the American Dream of homeownership, building memories one happy home at a time. We are grateful for our homeowners who have made this incredible milestone possible. Thank you for choosing a De Young Properties home to build your future.”

The home purchased is the 210 Residence Icon Series. This expansive, single-story home features 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a 3-car tandem garage, as well as a gourmet kitchen open to the great room and a cozy nook. There is a distinctive open-air courtyard with an optional fireplace at the center of the home creating a versatile outdoor living space and entertaining area that provides a beautiful flow of natural light into the surrounding rooms, for a merging of the home’s indoor-outdoor features.
